Privacy Policy

Information stored by the app

WhereMate may store the information you choose to enter, including item and place names, notes, labels, photographs, QR designs, reminder settings, and optional one-time location coordinates. This information is stored in the app’s local container. Small routing messages used by WhereMate widgets and App Intents may be stored temporarily in an Apple App Group shared only by WhereMate and its extensions.

Apple services

WhereMate uses Apple system services only when needed for a feature you request:

• Camera and Photos for photographs you capture, select, save, or share.
• Location Services for an optional one-time coordinate attached to a memory. WhereMate does not perform background location tracking.
• Microphone and Speech Recognition for voice capture. Supported transcription is performed on device and WhereMate does not retain an audio recording.
• Notifications for reminders you configure.
• StoreKit and the App Store to purchase, restore, and verify the optional lifetime upgrade.
• Apple Foundation Models, when available and enabled on an eligible device, to suggest text and layout settings for a custom QR design. WhereMate supplies design text and palette descriptions to the on-device model; it does not supply your imported artwork image.

Apple may process information under Apple’s own privacy policy when these system services are used.

Exports, sharing, and printing

WhereMate exports, shares, or prints information only when you initiate that action. A backup or QR design sent to another app, person, printer, storage provider, or Files location is then governed by the recipient’s or provider’s privacy practices. Backup archives are integrity checked but are not encrypted by WhereMate; store them securely.

Collection, tracking, and advertising

WhereMate does not sell personal information, track you across apps or websites, or use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. WhereMate does not transmit your belongings library to WhereMate servers.

If you email support, your email provider and WhereMate’s email provider process the message and address so the support request can be answered. Support messages are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, meet legal obligations, and prevent abuse.

Retention and deletion

Your library remains on your device until you edit it, delete records, remove the app, or erase the device. You control any copies you intentionally exported. Deleting WhereMate normally removes its local app-container data; copies previously exported or shared must be deleted from their destination separately.

Children

WhereMate is a general-audience organization utility and is not directed to children under 13. WhereMate does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a WhereMate server.

Changes

This policy may be updated when WhereMate’s functionality changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
